Burness Paull is one of Scotland’s premier law firms with offices of equal size and strength across Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, serving clients in Scotland, the UK and globally.
We are looking to recruit a new colleague to join our expanding Financial Services Regulatory team in our Edinburgh office. The team enjoys an excellent reputation, both locally and nationally, for its high level of quality service and advice it provides to clients.
The successful candidate will work alongside the rest of the team led by Caroline Stevenson. We recognise that sometimes PQE doesn’t entirely matter – it’s more about your experience and drive so we have opened up the role to all levels.
To qualify to apply, you must have a passion for financial services, be analytical, pragmatic and solutions focused and be able to work to a high standard while under pressure.
We are particularly keen to hear from those who have experience of any of the following, however, we’re equally keen to hear from you if you have the passion and the drive to roll up your sleeves and learn these areas:
FCA handbook and the principles of FS Regulation;
Funds regulatory experience;
Corporate deal support in relation to financial services clients;
Appointed Representatives rules and agreements;
Working with FCA and/or PRA;
General or life insurance; or
We are looking for candidates with excellent problem solving skills, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, excellent written and oral communication skills, and who are determined to provide a first-class service to clients. The desire to work in a close-knit team and a strong work ethic are also essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading team in a successful, growing firm where you will be challenged on a daily basis to problem solve and continually progress your knowledge and experience over a broad range of FS products.
