Burness Paull is one of Scotland’s premier law firms with offices of equal size and strength across Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, serving clients in Scotland, the UK and globally.
We are looking to recruit a Solicitor (1 - 4 years PQE) for the Dispute Resolution division in our Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will primarily work alongside Edinburgh DR partner Andrew Forsyth. There will also be an opportunity to work across offices (Aberdeen and Glasgow) with other members of the DR team.
It is preferable, but not essential, that candidates will have some experience of insurance litigation. The role will primarily involve defender reparation work including industrial disease litigation. There will be opportunities to work on shipping claims and insurance coverage disputes and advisory work in addition to other commercial litigation disputes. Some general commercial litigation experience would also be beneficial.
The role will involve providing advice, appearance work and assisting more senior members of the team.
You must have a passion for insurance litigation, be pragmatic and results focused, while working under pressure. We are looking for candidates with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, excellent written and oral communication skills, and who are determined to provide a first-class service. Ability to work in a close-knit team and a strong work ethic is also essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading team in a successful, growing firm.
