Burness Paull is one of Scotland’s premier law firms with offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, serving clients in Scotland, the UK and globally.
We are looking to recruit an ambitious and experienced associate for our private funds team, based in our Edinburgh office. The team is headed by partners Alan Soppitt, Paula Kennedy and Andrew Christie and is some 20 strong in total. While best known internationally as the global leader in the use of Scottish limited partnerships in fund structures the team is equally involved in the full range of sponsor side and investor side work. We are the sole firm to be ranked tier 1 by Chambers in Scotland.
This exciting opportunity will involve working on a range of matters relating to:
1. fund structuring and formation,
2. issues relating to funds during their lifetime, including the provision of debt finance to these funds,
3. primary investment work; and
4. secondaries, including GP led restructurings.
We are looking for candidates with between 2 and 5 years' PQE, with excellent funds experience, ideally gained within a recognised international law firm.
In addition to high quality and varied work, you will benefit from excellent training and support, as well as a competitive remuneration package.
You must be pragmatic and results-focussed, and be able to work under pressure and to tight timescales as a member of our team. We are looking for candidates with a positive attitude, a focus on quality and a determination to provide a first-class service.
This is a great opportunity to join a leading team in a successful, growing firm. At Burness Paull we look for style, ambition, innovation, passion and focus.
